Hey y'all! My name is Whitney Bernard Jumonville and I own Giggle & Play! I am a Lafayette native, graduating from Teurlings Catholic High School and from ULL with a B.A. in Psychology. After college I moved to Dallas, and then to St. Louis, MO where I received my Master's Degree in Nonprofit Administration. I loved living in different places, seeing what each, uniquely, had to offer, but there is no place like home (hence why I am back).
Naturally, I am drawn to kids... not sure if it's because I'm a big kid at heart, their infectious giggles, or a little bit of both. I have 1 son (Sully Bear-6 months) and 1 bonus son (Hayes-9 years).
After attending many celebrations and birthday parties for the children of my family and friends, I realized that all of these gatherings had something in common...the parents of crawlers, wobblers, climbers, walkers, and runners hardly got to enjoy moments and make memories at what should be a fun occasion for everyone because they were chasing around their littles, making sure they didn't get hurt.
Social life is difficult to maintain when your kid(s) are that young. Most restaurants aren't baby friendly, so time catching up with loved ones gets cut short; most parties and events are full of entertainment geared more toward older kids; even going to a friend's house can cause anxiety as you're worried about sharp corners and how many things your kid can get into in one night.
